A day at your school

How it works

Start with a school-wide dress-down day and a shared cause.

Choose your day.

Students and advisors choose a date and format together: patriotic colors, jeans, or both. Confirm any school approvals and your contribution plan.

Invite your school.

Invite students and staff to dress for the day and contribute to support veterans. Share the date, what to wear, and how the funds will help.

Hold your day.

Enjoy seeing your school take part, then submit contributions using GI Go Fund’s program instructions. Thank everyone who helped.

Your school can keep it simple with a colors or jeans day, or add activities your council wants to organize.

What exactly is Red, White & Blue Day?

A school dress-down fundraiser for GI Go Fund. Students and staff wear patriotic colors, jeans, or both and raise funds to support veterans and their families.

Does it take place at our school?

Yes. Your school hosts its own day, with its own approved format. You don’t need to travel to a central event.

Does it have to be November 10?

No. Tuesday, November 10, 2026 is the Veterans Day program date; you can choose another date.

Can students and staff both participate?

Yes. Schools can involve both; including students is the school’s choice.

How much are participants asked to donate?

We suggest a $5 donation for participating staff. Schools can choose an appropriate suggested contribution for students and their community.

Does every student have to donate?

No. Students are welcome to participate whether or not they donate. Contributions are encouraged and appreciated, but are not required to take part.

Do we need an online fundraising team page?

You don’t have to use a team page to collect contributions. Online registration creates one for your school, but you can choose to collect donations offline and submit them by check or money order instead.

How do we collect and submit contributions?

Coordinate collection with school staff. Donations can be collected online through your team page, or offline and submitted by check or money order. Follow the official contribution form (PDF) for complete submission instructions.

What happens after registration?

Your school receives an editable team page, which you can choose to use for online donations. Next, review the flyer and contribution instructions linked above with your council and advisor, confirm your school’s plan, and invite students and staff.
